El-Hamra Reservoirs and WWTP General Background El-Hamra WWTP serves 3 regional councils Majd elShams, Buq'ata and Mas'ade having population of 28,000 at the end of design period.
There are 6 Reservoirs integrated in the plant: 2 anaerobic lagoons 7,000 m
3 each, 2 aerated lagoons of 7,200 m
3 and 7,300 m
3, 180,000 m
3 settling lagoon, and 260,000 m
3 effluent reservoir. The plant was completed at 2005. The plant consists of semi-intensive facilities, i.e. a combination of anaerobic and aerated earth lagoons.
BJIS provided general design and complete detailed design services as well as general supervision of construction.
